The Pachacamac pre-Inca archeological site is located 40 kilometers from Lima in the valley of the Lurin River. It was established around A.D. 200 and was named after the creator god. They flourished for about 1300 years before the Spanish invasion. A lovely place for a visit outside of Lima.

This morning we set off from your hotel and drive to Barranco observing Central Park, its Municipal Library, the traditional Bridge of Sighs, the colonial homes, and its famous boulevard. Then head over to Chorrillos, once the most exclusive summer resort in Lima. Nowadays, Chorrillos is the only suburb in Lima that boasts an ecological reserve called “Pantanos de Villa” which we will see on our way to Pachacamac. A nice scenic drive down the South Pacific Coast highway takes us to the pre-Inca ruins. Tour the Pachacamac Museum, displaying relics found at the site. We will walk around admiring the pyramids, temples, ceremonial, and burial sites. Return to your hotel.
