This train station is the main boarding spot for luxury trains. It is located on Roldan street, in Poroy district (outside from Cusco province). The availability of taking your train, from this train station during the year, changes owling to the raining season (January to April), when it’s closed for travelers.
Because, long raining periods during those months, produce landslides along the rail road tracks, and could produce accidents. However, the rest of the year, it’s opened for all the travelers. So, this train station for luxury trains (Hiram Bingham train by Peru Rail or First class train by Inca Rail) opens from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Inside the Poroy train station, you could find a lobby, where you can wait the departure time for your travel. Also there are rest rooms, open areas, parking zone and, if you want, you could taste a coca tea at the lobby while you are waiting to begin your adventure. Furthermore, the travel-time from Poroy station to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) is 3 hours and 30 minutes approximately.
In addition, this train station is 10.8 Km. (6.7 mi.) away from Cusco, and Cusco transport can take you to this train station.
